College of the Rockies (Cranbrook campus) offers the entire Provincial Cook Training program and the Apprenticeship program in a fully-equipped training kitchen, classroom area and formal Class Act Dining Room.

- PROGRAM STATUS: The culinary arts program is currently accepting applications for all of the intakes. At this time, there are plenty of seats available.


Certificate Information

  • Upon successful completion of Cook 1 students will receive a Professional Cook 1 Certificate from COTR.
     
  • ITA Credential of Qualification (Professional Cook 1) will be issued upon completion of 1000 Work based hours and a mark of 70% or better on the the provincial Qualification Exam.

Apprenticeship

  5. Pre-requisites
  6. Interested in a $1000 grant if you become an apprentice
  7. Interested in a possible $2000 tax credit as an employer

ACE-IT

Essentially this is a program set up for high school students. They are able to attend a college trade program full time while getting credits towards graduation.

It is to help young adults accelerate into the work force and get a jump start on their apprenticeship. This program is sponsored by the government.
