Course Equivalency Information
English Equivalency Information
Many programs or courses at College of the Rockies require a minimum of 65% in English 12 or equivalent. The following courses or assessments meet the English 12 or equivalent requirement:
- Minimum 65% in BC English 12, English First Peoples (EFP 12), ENGL 090, ENGL 091, or COMC 100 (please refer to the program admission requirements or course prerequisite information to determine the minimum grade required); or
- Minimum 85% in ELP 89 or ELP 98; or
English Language Assessment: TOEFL iBT 80, LPI 5, PTE 50, or IELTS Academic Overall 6.0 (with minimum Writing 6.0, Reading, 6.0, Listening 5.5, Speaking 5.5); or equivalent standardized test score as determined by the Registrar’s Office.
Note: Communications 12 is not equivalent to English 12
Provincial and Territorial Secondary School Equivalencies
The following information is provided only as a guideline. Please confirm your transferability with College of the Rockies Education Advisors, and with any other BC institution you plan to attend.
Students who have not resided in British Columbia for at least one year, prior to the start of their study period must apply for student loan funding through the province in which they resided for a minimum of one year prior to coming to BC.
