Course Overview:

Enter the exciting, fast-paced world of special events by earning a Continuing Education Special Event Planning Certificate!

Whether you are currently working in special events or are interested in entering the field, this Special Event Planning Continuing Education Certificate is for you.

This certificate is designed for those who are currently coordinating and/or managing special events as part of their current employment, or for those who are interested in pursuing this line of work. The certificate is comprised of 4 modules (each module is three weeks long), the topics are:

  1. Best Practices in Special Event Management
  2. Event Coordination
  3. Event Marketing
  4. Risk Management and Evaluation

Requirements:

All students must complete Module 1 prior to completing any other Modules. Students should be familiar with computers, word processing programs, and internet browsing. Creating, saving, retrieving and e-mailing Word documents is required. Communication with peers and instructor via email, online discussion and chat rooms is also involved.

Technical Requirements: Strongly recommended Minimum of Windows 98, Microsoft Word preferred, access to the Internet.
