Summer Pruning and Fruit Thinning | $79 + GST
This "hands-on" workshop is designed to familiarize tree fruit growers with skills and methods that will improve production of tree fruits.
Tree fruits such as apples, pears and peaches need to be thinned in order to improve size and quality of fruit. Cherries, apricots and some varieties of plums also benefit from fruit thinning. Summer pruning is beneficial to all tree fruits as it improves air circulation and light penetration and reduces pests and disease. This workshop combines theory and interactive demonstrations.
Please bring pruning shears to class if you have them.
