As our body ages, an active lifestyle becomes a key component to a persons overall health and independence. Daily exercise can increase ones overall level of fitness, enhance mental capacity, happiness, memory, improve balance, manage symptoms of illness or pain and even reverse some of the signs of decline as we age.
Join Active Aging Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer Jennette St. Jean in this interactive workshop which will include key information about the aging process. Canadian guidelines and stats on active aging, the latest news and tips on nutrition, as well as functional exercises including cardiovascular fitness, mobility and strength. Jennette will guide you through the top 10 exercises for active aging that you can do in the comfort of your own home and also provide you with the resources to get active in the community.
This workshop is designed for the older adult in mind (50 years plus) however those individuals who are younger and interested in the program are welcome.
Dress in comfortable clothes and bring gym type shoes to class.
