National Cinema: The German Film | $199 + GST
This course presents an historical overview of German film from the early 1900s to the present day, with emphasis from the early days of Expressionism up to the New German Cinema. Students will view popular and avant-garde films while discussing mass culture, propaganda, education and entertainment as nation-building practices. Films to be screened include: The Cabinet of Dr. Calgigari, M, The Tin Drum, Ali, Fear Eats the Soul, Run Lola Run, among others. The Course is taught in English.
