With each having over 18 years of experience in the field, Registered Massage Therapist and Professional Esthetician, Stacy Douglas (Invermere Campus), and Certified Professional Esthetician, Shannon Edmonstone (Cranbrook Campus), bring a wealth of knowledge t the Pedicure and Manicure Certification Program.
This five-day certification course provides students with everything they need to learn for professional spa manicure and pedicure treatments. Comprehensive practical and theory training involving nail and foot anatomy, nail disorders, hygiene, paraffin wax treatment, polish application, French Manicure technique, Gelish application and massage techniques will be covered. Correct salon and spa sanitation procedures in accordance with Health Canada Act will be taught to insure proper knowledge and safe practices are delivered.
Two week blocks are scheduled between classroom session days for students to work on their practicum assignments with live models. This is an essential part of mastering the techniques learned in class.
A College of the Rockies Pedicure and Manicure Certification will be awarded to those students who successfully complete the course. Grades will be based on practicum assignments, classroom work and final exams.
Age Requirements: Minimum age of 16 years. Please note that students younger than 18yrs of age must successfully complete an interview screening assessment prior to being accepted into the program. Pre-requisites: Pre-reading and review assignment will be required prior to the course date for all students.
Students are required to bring models to afternoon class sessions.
Course tuition includes Student Kits (valued at $375) required for classroom and practicum assignments.
