Physical Assessment, Licensed Practical Nurse Upgrading Course
Designed for new graduates and currently practicing LPN's, this 12-hour upgrading course develops physical assessment skills and critical thinking skills. As the staff mix changes in acute, residential and community care settings, LPNs are becoming involved in more areas of care and responsibility. This course helps LPNs prepare for emerging challenges as integral members of the nursing team.
The workshop format combines classroom theory with practice in a lab setting. It reviews all body systems and methods of assessment to help LPNs knowledgeably and competently assess the patient, supporting care planning needs in a dynamic and fluid environment.
Among the physical assessment skills included:
- cardiac and respiratory assessments
- determining levels of consciousness
- post-op assessment
- signs and symptom management of angina and stroke
- assessment of the cognitively impaired patient
Although, we do not currently have a Physical Assessment course planned, please contact us to be put on our interest list for the next course.
