Fall Protection
This course is offered by the Fall Protection Group which is recognized around the world for its high quality. This 7.5 hour course covers a range of material and you will experience many practical exercises during the course.
Participants will learn:
- Fall protection fundamentals
- How to identify most types of fall protection equipment and how it is used
- How to calculate appropriate fall protection system set up methods of eliminating fall hazards
- Components of fall arrest and fall restraint systems
- Equipment specifications, limitations, care and inspections
- How to create a fall protection work plan
- The need for rescue planning and preparedness

Cost: $195 for SICA Members, $180.00 for additional participants from the same company, $250 for Non-Members
BCCSA Auditor Course
This program is designed to provide training to those who will be evaluating a company health and safety program. Through a practical workshop, students will be shown the simplicity of the audit and how to utilize standardized forms. This program provides education necessary to effectively evaluate the health and safety system in a company.

BCCSA Supervisor Course
This course is essential for anyone who manages workers. The course is instructor-led with an emphasis on supervisor safety, responsibility and liability considerations. It includes detailed presentations on site safety and monitoring and effectively addressing and managing problem situations in order to prevent accidents and injuries.

BCCSA Small Business COR
- The course is only 2 days of training instead of the 6 day longer program
- One day is an on-line course called Principles of Health & Safety management (PHSM) - this course walks the student through understanding health and safety management systems and building a safety manual
- One day is classroom training designed to provide hands on experience in auditing and using the audit instrument
- PHSM is a co-requisite with the one-day in class training
- The audit document consists of two sections:
- Health & Safety Program audit - must receive 80% to pass
- and
- An optional Return-to-work audit element in the audit document and agent 80% is required.
- Total assessment rebate from WorkSafeBC could be up to 15%. Health and Safety COR rebate is 10%. Return to Work (TRW) is an additional 5%
- For companies with fewer than 20 employees only internal audits are required every year to maintain COR. In the first year the Health & Safety manual must be submitted
- Sector 72 will be reimbursed $150 plus GST when COR certified
