Free piano recital/lecture at College of the Rockies
Calgary pianist Allen Reiser will give a free lecture/recital of Liszt piano music entitled Facets of Liszt on Friday, February 17 at 7:30 pm in the College of the Rockies' Lecture Theatre. Reiser will present a number of pieces by the virtuosic Hungarian composer highlighting different periods and aspects of his piano style.
New milestone for College of the Rockies
On January 20 the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer granted College of the Rockies designation as a 'receiving' institution in addition to its former designation as a 'sending' institution. What this means is that COTR is able to expand its transfer pathways for students to and from the college.
Open House at College of the Rockies Feb. 9
College of the Rockies is hosting an Open House for prospective students on Thursday, Feb. 9. COTR staff will be available to help guide you through the post-secondary education process for College of the Rockies, or any other institution, on a drop-in basis from 4 to 6 pm in the cafeteria at the Cranbrook Campus.
College of the Rockies student to bike across Canada
College of the Rockies' student Kieren Britton has big plans for the summer of 2012. In between her studies for a Bachelor of Business Administration Sustainable Business Practices degree, she intends to ride her bike across Canada to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Canada. She is dedicating this ambitious journey to her grandfather, who died of the disease, by calling it Kieren's Ride for Grandpa.
