Staying close to home

Meghan Flint wanted to attend College of the Rockies so she could stay close to home and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle so readily available in the area. She also liked the idea of paying lower tuition costs while still receiving great instruction.

Meghan knew she would focus her education on business but was unsure about what major to focus on.  Through trial and error, she soon found what courses appealed to her most and determined that Human Resources was a good fit for her.   Meghan completed a General Management Diploma at College of the Rockies and then transferred to the University of Lethbridge where she completed her Bachelor of Management Degree with a Human Resources and Labour Relations major.

Meghan received her Bachelor Degree in December 2011, moved home to Cranbrook and within two weeks was working as an auxiliary in the Human Resources and Payroll office at College of the Rockies.  “I was thrilled to work at the school where my interest in Human Resources first developed.  It was great to see all my former instructors and fill them in on my educational achievements,” Meghan says.

After working as an auxiliary for a short time, Meghan was hired to work in a term position in Payroll at the College.  “I am gaining valuable work experience that I will never forget.  I work with a great team and am proud to say I work at College of the Rockies,” she remarks.
