I was away on vacation for most of September. When I left, our new Trades Training facility pretty much consisted of only a few towers of concrete and some rebar (though a tremendous amount of work had been done below the surface at that point). What a difference a few weeks makes.
On October 3, I had the opportunity to actually walk around inside the building! It was so cool to be inside and to be able to visualize an actual building after so many months of it just being a concept. Much of the structural steel is in place, the concrete slab has been poured and roof work is beginning.
The building is on-track for the April 30 substantial completion deadline and will be an amazing new facility for our Industrial Mechanic and Electrical programs beginning in August 2018. Heavy Mechanical and other trades programs will also get to use this great space as needed. We can’t wait!
