Metalsmithing – Open Studio

Course Overview

Open studio bench is available for jewelers to create using the College of the Rockies tools. The studio fosters creativity and encourages experimentation in an atmosphere of cultural exchange, conversation, encouragement, and freedom of expression. You must be able to work independently and have completed our Metalsmith – Core class or equivalent training.

Those wishing to use the studio must be able to work safely and self-sufficiently with all the different tools and equipment available.  The studio will be supervised, but while you can ask for assistance, there will be no instruction per se. During the first fifteen minutes of your first rental time you will be required to complete a Safety and Equipment Orientation with the Studio Technician in order to use the studio.

Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, your hair tied back and no scarves or loose clothing, as those are all safety hazards.
