Jean Augustine was the first Black woman elected to the Parliament of Canada. \n\n\n• Thomas Sowell – A prominent American economist and social theorist. \n\n\n• Bromley Armstrong & Carrie Best – Canadian human rights activists who fought against segregation and for labour rights. \n\n\n• Toussaint Louverture – Leader of the Haitian Revolution. \n\n\n• W. E. B. Du Bois – A foundational American sociologist\, historian\, and co-founder of the NAACP. \n\n\nParticipants are invited to explore the displays at their own pace.
