SUMMARY:Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW)
DESCRIPTION:Monday August 24 (9-12pm)\, Tuesday August 25 (9-4PM)\, Wednesday August 26 (9-4pm) & Thursday August 22 (9-4pm) \nCranbrook Campus \nThe Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is a four-day intensive program designed to strengthen instructors’ skills in student-centred teaching through practice and feedback. The ISW is highly participatory\, requiring active involvement in instructional tasks and peer-to-peer feedback. It is designed to build skills and confidence as well as enabling participants to learn from and foster partnerships with colleagues from other disciplines. Participants successfully completing the ISW will receive a certificate of completion that is internationally recognized. The ISW is most appropriate for anyone developing their facilitation\, teaching\, instructional\, or coaching skills – this may include (but is not limited to) instructional faculty\, non-instructional faculty\, staff from a variety of units\, managers\, and leaders. Everyone is welcome! \nFor those engaged in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP)\, the ISW certificate articulates to PIDP 3220 (Delivery of Instruction). \nRegister Now! \n*ISW cohorts must be a minimum of 4 registrants and a maximum of 6 in order to meet workshop requirements. There is always a risk that a scheduled ISW cannot proceed (if less than four people join) or that the program becomes waitlisted (if the maximum six spaces are filled). Interested registrants are kindly asked to carefully consider their ability to commit to the ISW\, protect their calendars to prevent scheduling conflicts\, and reach out immediately if withdrawal becomes necessary.
