High school students … Get a jump on your College of the Rockies trades training by enrolling in a Youth Train in Trades program!
College of the Rockies offers a vast array of skilled trades programming. Get a head start on your skilled trades apprenticeship program while still in high school and earn high school graduation credits at the same time. Eligible programs include: Automotive Service Technician, Carpenter, Professional Cook, Electrician, Hairstylist, Heavy Mechanical, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Plumber, and Welder.
The Youth Train in Trades program is a partnership between College of the Rockies, School Districts 5, 6, and 8 and the Industry Training Authority.
Eligibility for Youth Train in Trades:
If you are a grade 11 or 12 student wanting to enter a trade now, contact the College of the Rockies’ Regional Transition Coordinator or talk to your high school counsellor.

Q: What does it cost to enrol in the Youth Train in Trades program?
A: All College of the Rockies’ Trades programs require a $200 deposit. Regular College tuition, textbook and supply costs also apply. Generally, your school district helps with some of the tuition costs associated with taking part in the program. The College’s Financial Assistance and Awards Advisor may be able to help you access bursaries to help with costs for additional tuition, textbooks and supplies.
