EVR Basic Energy Isolation

Course Overview

This Basic Energy Isolation course will prepare EVR contractors (companies and individuals) to use EVRs 12-Step Isolation Process for all types of work where exposure to uncontrolled energy release creates a risk determined to be unacceptable. The objectives of this process are to minimize the risk of persons being injured through contact with energy sources and to protect equipment from damage. This training will prepare individuals to be a “Basic Isolator” with the following Learning Outcomes:
– Understand what Basic Isolation is – Understand the role of a Basic Isolator
– Understand the limitations of a Basic Isolator
– Understand the 3 types of Energy Isolation: Basic Isolation, Complex Isolation and High Voltage Isolation
– How to properly join an Energy Isolation Permit
– Learn Basic Isolation competency using mock isolation procedures and equipment

Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a College of the Rockies CE Certificate of Completion, valid for three years.
