January 1

  • New Year’s Day – statutory holiday – College closed.

January 2

  • Orientation starts for new international students (Jan 2&5) TBA.

January 5

  • JumpStart: Seminars and Student Life activities for new students. New students must attend.

January 6

  • Start of classes for all programs with semestered courses.
  • Start of classes for Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies programs, Certified Dental Assistant program, Practical Nurse program, and Health Care Assistant program.
  • Start of classes for Office Administration program.
  • Trades foundation level and apprenticeship level students, please refer to the Trades Training Schedule for specific start and end dates for your program.

January 20

  • Last day of late registration for Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses.
  • Last day to change courses or officially withdraw from Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses without dropped courses appearing on the permanent record.
  • Last day to officially withdraw from Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses with a 75% refund of tuition fees. This refund applies to domestic students. International students refer to policy 2.2.6 Tuition Refunds for International Students.
  • Last day of late registration for Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses.
  • Last day to change courses or officially withdraw from Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses without dropped courses appearing on the permanent record.
  • Last day to officially withdraw from Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses with a 75% refund of tuition fees. This refund applies to domestic students. International students refer to policy 2.2.6 Tuition Refunds for International Students.

January 23

  • Last day for clearing an ‘N’ grade assigned for Fall 2025 semester courses. 

February 2026


February 3

  • Last day to officially withdraw from Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses with a 50% refund of tuition fees. This refund applies to domestic students. International students refer to policy 2.2.6 Tuition Refunds for International Students.
  • Last day to change course credit to Audit status for all programs with semestered courses.
  • Last day to officially withdraw from Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses with a 50% refund of tuition fees. This refund applies to domestic students. International students refer to policy 2.2.6 Tuition Refunds for International Students.
  • Last day to change course credit to Audit status for Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses.

February 15

  • Last day to submit Bachelor of Science in Nursing applications for the 2026-27 academic year.

February 16

  • BC Family Day – statutory holiday – College closed.

February 17

  • Spring/Reading Break (Feb 17-20). No day or evening classes except for Continuing Education courses and some Vocational and Trades programs.

February 27

  • Registration closes for ELP courses.

March 2026


March 16

  • Child, Youth and Family Studies Reading Break (Mar 16 – 20). No classes.

March 20

  • Last day to officially withdraw from Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses and Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses. A ‘W’ grade will normally not be assigned after this date. Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal and will normally result in the assignment of an ‘F’ or ‘NCG’ grade.
  • Last day of classes for Winter 2026 classes Certified Dental Assistant Program.

March 23

  • Start of classes for Spring 2026 Certified Dental Assistant Program.

March 30

  • Applications received on or before March 31 for entry into programs starting in Fall 2026 receive priority processing.

April 2026


April 3

  • Good Friday – statutory holiday – College closed.

April 6

  • Easter Monday – College closed.

April 13

  • Early registration opens for continuing domestic and international students in all programs with semestered courses for Fall 2026, Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 semesters.

April 17

  • Last day of classes for Winter 2026 for all programs with semestered courses.
  • Last day of classes for Winter 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies programs.            
  • Tuition fees for Spring 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses are due.

April 18

  • Examination period starts for the Winter 2026 semester for all programs with semestered courses. Do not arrange travel until after the examination period.

April 24

  • Last day of classes for Winter 2026 ELP courses.

April 26

  • Examination period ends. Do not arrange travel until after the examination period.

April 27

  • Registration opens for new domestic students for all programs with semestered courses for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 semesters.
  • Start of classes for Spring 2026 semester for Child, Youth and Family Studies programs.

April 30

  • Orientation starts for new international students (Apr 30-May 01)

  • Start of Spring 2026 intersession (7.5 weeks) courses. Classes commence on various advertised dates during this period. Tuition fees are due.

  • Start of classes for continuing students in Hospitality Management Program Spring 2026.
  • Last day of late registration for Spring 2026 Child, Youth and Family Studies courses.

  • Last day of full-time UACE classes at all campuses before the summer programming.

  • Start of classes for part-time UACE (summer). Delivery at Cranbrook, Fernie and Creston Campuses.

June 19

  • Last day of classes for Spring 2026 intersession (7.5 weeks) courses.
  • Last day for registration in ELP courses (15 weeks).
  • Last day of classes for Spring 2026 semester for Child, Youth and Family Studies program.
  • Last day of classes for Spring 2026 Certified Dental Assistant program.

June 22

  • Examination period begins for the Spring intersession (7.5 weeks). Do not arrange travel until after the examination period.

June 24

  • Examination period ends for the Spring intersession (7.5 weeks). Do not arrange travel until after the examination period.

July 2026


July 1

  • Canada Day – statutory holiday – College closed.

July 10

August 2026


August 3

  • BC Day – statutory holiday – College closed.

August 7

  • Tuition fees due for Fall 2026 for all programs with semestered courses.
  • Tuition fee due dates for Child, Youth and Family Studies, Fire Services, Health, Office Administration, and Trades/Apprenticeship students are indicated on admission letters.

August 14

  • Last day of classes for Spring/Summer ELP courses (15 weeks).

August 20

  • Last day of classes for part-time UACE (summer).

August 24

  • Orientation starts for new international students (Aug 24-28)

August 27

  • JumpStart for new students. Prepare for the year ahead by attending student success seminars. New students must attend.
