Discipline: Mountain Adventure Skills Training

After a brief introduction to river rafting, followed by a 5-day kayak course, more than 25 years ago, my passion for whitewater was born. Even so, I completed a Business degree at York University before realizing the corporate ladder was not the adventure I was looking for. Thus began my career as a raft guide and kayak instructor.

For the following six seasons, I worked at Wilderness Tours on the Ottawa River, with a couple of winters guiding and instructing in Costa Rica. Not feeling as though I had found my niche yet, I packed up and headed west to British Columbia in search of more whitewater varieties.

It was here that my business education became a real asset. I started a business called Endless Adventure, where I led rafting expeditions, helped people learn to operate a kayak, and oversaw retail sales.

In search of an endless summer, I started guiding kayak trips in Ecuador and was recognized for my river rescue skills as a Lead Safety Coordinator for many races and events in both Ecuador and Canada. My love for teaching led me to become an active Master Learning Facilitator/Master Coach Developer with Canoe Kayak Canada.

These days you can find me on the river over 200 days a year, teaching college and university-level adventure study programs, introductory courses on the Slocan River, and guiding international guests in Ecuador.
