As owner of MacDonald Hydrology Consultants Ltd., and a researcher and adjunct professor at the University of Lethbridge, Ryan MacDonald understands the importance of supporting the education of future environmental scientists. When College of the Rockies put out a call for contributions to the Dean’s Equipment Fund for Environmental Science as part of their Giving Tuesday campaign, he was quick to jump on board.

The Dean’s Equipment Fund was established to help science faculty at the College acquire specialized lab equipment and field tools for students in the Associate of Environmental Science program. MacDonald Hydrology’s $2,000 donation will go a long way to helping that become a reality.

“We have a passion for environmental science and feel this valuable program is critically important in our community,” MacDonald said.

Established nine years ago, MacDonald Hydrology Consultants Ltd. provides specialized services in hydrology and cumulative effects assessment. While they serve the entire province of British Columbia, their primary focus is on the Kootenay and Shuswap regions.

As a Cranbrook resident himself, MacDonald believes the College provides a valuable educational experience to local students and is essential for helping the region to continue to grow and thrive.

“The College is foundational to the future of the region, providing students with an opportunity to gain local perspectives while pursuing higher education.”
