Mike Adams knew when he graduated from high school in Creston, BC that he wanted to be an accountant. When looking at schools to complete a Business Administration diploma, College of the Rockies had several key components Mike was looking for.

“I wanted to attend a college with small class sizes that I could afford.  Having a small residence available where I could meet new people was also important to me,” he says.

Mike completed College of the Rockies’ Business Administration diploma in 1998 and went on to become a Chartered Accountant and partner with Taylor Adams Chartered Accountants in Cranbrook.  He is also very involved in his community.

As a member of Junior Chamber International’s Kootenay chapter from 2006 to 2012, Mike was Chair of the committee responsible for the installation of a $75,000 children’s playground at Moir Park in Cranbrook.  After his six years with JCI Kootenay Mike moved on to become President of the Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce in 2013.

Through all of his successes, Mike remembers his time at College of the Rockies fondly.  “I highly recommend the College to any potential students.  The connections with the faculty and other students and the overall experience itself are memories that will last forever.”

UPDATES: In December 2017, Mike was named Cranbrook’s 2017 Citizen of the Year! In 2018, with the retirement of his partner, Mike took over as sole proprietor of the firm, renaming it Apex Accounting.
