We live in a changing world, where globalization is becoming the norm. Developing a deeper understanding of the cultures, customs, and worldview of others is becoming a necessity for many career paths and is important for promoting acceptance and tolerance in all societies.

College of the Rockies’ mission is to transform lives and enrich community through the power of education. Our participation in the Global Affairs Canada Youth Internship program (part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy) supports this mission by providing life-changing opportunities to interns who travel abroad to work. These internships can also create change and positively impact the individuals and communities in the host countries.

The College is proud to support nine individuals who will be interning in various positions in four different countries between June and December 2018. We are excited to share blog posts from these interns who will, in turn, share their experiences in Ethiopia, Dominica, Kenya and Tanzania.

Meet Emma, Abby, Carter, Caitlin, Luisa, Shaylyn, Claire, Caitlin and Molly. We look forward to hearing more from them over the next several months. Safe travels!
