College of the Rockies holding Avalanche raffle fundraiser

Posted on
College of the Rockies’ men’s and women’s Avalanche volleyball teams are holding a fundraising raffle, with the top prize of a Bowen Byram signed jersey.

Prizes include a Bowen Byram signed Colorado Avalanche jersey

College of the Rockies’ Avalanche volleyball teams’ latest fundraising effort offers a top prize with a local connection to another Avalanche team.

“Cranbrook’s own Bowen Byram has contributed a signed Colorado Avalanche NHL Jersey,” said Cori Andrichuk, Manager of Campus Life and Athletics. “That’s an exciting prize, with a local connection, that is sure to be coveted by many hockey fans. We’ll also be offering a host of other prizes, including golf passes to local courses, a stay at Elizabeth Lake Lodge, and more.”

Proceeds for the raffle will benefit student athletes, helping with the purchase of gear and equipment as well as expenses related to the team’s travel schedule.

“As we transition back to league competition after the cancellation of the 2020 – 2021 PACWEST season, our travel will look a little different,” Andrichuk said. “Funds from this raffle will go a long way to ease this transition and offset our additional costs.”

Tickets are $2 each and will be available through the College’s Student Life office starting on Monday, October 18. Only 2500 tickets will be sold. The prize draw will take place at the Avalanche home opener on November 26. Attendance at the game is not required.
