When Andrea Gris was exploring whether a career as a physical therapist was the right fit for her, having access to a Kinesiology program close to her hometown of Fernie provided a great starting point.

“The College’s program was a good test to see if kinesiology and physical therapy were the route I wanted to go,” she said. “It was there that I grew to know for sure that this was the field for me.”

While a student at the College, she found the Kinesiology program provided the support and mentorship she needed as a young student.

“The small class sizes at the College meant I was able to get to know the great instructors there,” she said. “Their support helped guide my decision to pursue a bachelor’s degree, which then led me to my master’s degree.”

After completing the Kinesiology diploma at the College, Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy degrees. She is now the owner/practitioner at Return to Health Physiotherapy in Fernie, BC.

Looking back, she’s grateful for the start she got at College of the Rockies.

“The College has a great environment where classes are small and you can take the time to find your passion,” she said.
