Secwepemctsín Language Level 1

SECW 110 provides an introduction to Secwepemctsín, an Interior Salish language. The ancestral territory of the Secwépemc People encompasses approximately 180,000 square kilometres in what is now British Columbia. Emphasizing speaking and listening comprehension, students will develop foundational Secwepemctsín skills for everyday use. Learners will build practical vocabulary, phrases, questions, responses, and requests that support communication and continued language learning. Students will also apply their learning through story creation and language self-assessment.
