Electric Vehicle Maintenance Technology

This course has a 6 hour online self-paced module that must be completed in advance of the 30 hour in-person classroom/shop training period.

You will learn about battery electric vehicle systems, how to demonstrate the use of PPE associated with high voltage and demonstrate the use of category 3 metres, insulated hand tools and equipment used with electric vehicles, describe high voltage electric motors, demonstrate high voltage safety plug removal on various models, and test and replace high voltage batteries, battery modules, individual battery cells, and voltage relays.

Students must be a Red Seal Automotive Service Technician or have completed Level 3 Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Program.
