Incident Safety Officer
This course prepares emergency responders to perform confidently and effectively in the role of Incident Safety Officer in accordance with NFPA 1550, Standard for Emergency Responder Health and Safety, Chapter 5, Incident Safety Officer, 2024 Edition. Training focuses on the knowledge, judgment, and communication skills needed to monitor incident conditions, identify hazards, support command, and promote responder health and safety throughout the incident. Emphasis is placed on risk management, accountability, incident scene assessment, fire behavior, special hazard recognition, and timely intervention so that graduates are prepared to strengthen safe and effective incident operations.
Upon successful completion of the course successful candidates will receive ProBoard Incident Safety Officer certification. Candidates without Fire Officer 1 certification will receive a College Fire Innovations Training certificate.
