BC Fire Fighter Minimum Training Standards - Exterior

This course prepares firefighters to perform confidently and safely in the Exterior Operations Firefighter role under the BC Structure Firefighter Minimum Training Standards. Students develop the foundational knowledge, practical skills, and operational awareness needed to support structural fire incidents through exterior fire suppression and mitigation activities, while working as part of a coordinated team under the direction of a Team Leader or Incident Commander. Emphasis is placed on firefighter safety, communications, personal protective equipment, SCBA, water supply, hose handling, ladders, scene control, fire behaviour, and exterior fire attack so that graduates are well prepared to contribute effectively within their department’s declared service level.
