When Carol Smith arrived at College of the Rockies, she brought with her valuable experience as a Health Care Assistant in Jamaica and a strong desire to continue her journey in healthcare.
Choosing College of the Rockies was an easy decision—it was close to home and offered the supportive environment she was looking for. “The instructors and learning new techniques for healthcare were what I enjoyed the most,” she recalls.
The program equipped her with the skills and confidence to step directly into the workforce. Immediately after completing the program, Carol was hired permanently at Swan Valley Lodge, where she continues to apply the knowledge gained at the College.
“The course set me up for success. I’m able to put into practice what I’ve been taught,” she says.
Her advice for future students? “I would encourage everyone to attend the College. The atmosphere is conducive to learning, the instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive, and they truly want to see us succeed.”
Looking back, she is grateful for the opportunity: “I’m happy to have had the chance to broaden my knowledge in my career.”
