Those of us who work here are proud of our little College and the positive educational and personal experience we aim to provide to all of our students. We are so proud, in fact, we can be tempted to brag about how awesome it is here…but we’re probably a little biased.
We have been posting some media releases, though, that are more than just our humble brags. These stories include real data. Today, as an example, we posted a story about how students who start at College of the Rockies before transferring to another post-secondary institution to complete a degree not only have a higher degree completion rate (85%) than those from other BC transfer institutions but they also have a higher grade point average than students from other BC institutions as well.
Uh oh. Am I guilty of boasting again? I guess I am – but this comes from a study of students who transferred to a degree-granting institution between 2008 and 2012 completed by The British Columbia Council on Admission and Transfer (BCCAT). And who are we to argue with an unbiased study?
Our International students have also voted us #1 for overall average student satisfaction. We’ve been voted #1 in Canada for three years in a row and #1 in the world for the past two years. As much as we hate to toot our own horn, to be given an honour like this from our students is something we just can’t help but talk about. We love our students so we’re so proud that they feel the same about us.
So, please forgive us for our bragging. We just can’t help being Small College Proud!
