Students must dress for the weather and wear safety-approved boots.
Course Overview
Learn the basics of chainsaw operation, safety and maintenance. This two-day course covers the proper safety gear needed, safe work procedures, daily maintenance of chainsaw and/or brush saw, small diameter tree falling, bucking and limbing, cleaning and inspection of saw, minor troubleshooting and chain filing. Come prepared to use equipment. Theory and field exams will be conducted. Training is based on parts of the BC Faller Training Standard which is a certification program and meets WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) intent. Chainsaws and all equipment are supplied.
