CORE Hunter Safety Training

YOUTH: BC Wildlife Federation allows children as young as 10 to take the course, however, we request that children 14 years of age or under be accompanied by an adult as the days are long and the student may need assistance with reading and comprehension of course materials. Regardless of age, all students receive the same examination. Parents are not allowed to assist with examinations. The course reading and comprehension level is a minimum of grade eight and in English.

By law, students have to be at least 10 years old. Check with the examiner regarding age requirements for licensing or review the RCMP website.

 

**Course does not cover any aspects of field dressing.**

Course Overview

New to hunting? Make sure you possess the knowledge and skills needed to be a safe and ethical hunter by taking the CORE (Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education) program. Complete a practical firearm handling test, as well as a written exam.  A certification fee of $30 must be sent to the BCWF by the student upon completion of the course.
