Notes
The first class will be held at the college, and the rest will be held off campus in the Lister/Huscroft area. Please ensure that you have reliable transportation as this is not provided by the College. You will receive the address for the off-campus sessions on the first day of class.
Here’s a quick list of items attendees should bring (necessary if you will have bees shortly). Some of these items won’t be required if you only plan to have the experience.
- Protective clothing: Light-colored, long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
- Face covering: Bee veils or bee suits with veils to protect the face.
- Gloves: Preferably leather or thick fabric to protect the hands.
- Closed-toe shoes: Boots or sturdy shoes.
- Hive tool and smoker: These items are not required, but they are a must if you plan to keep bees. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to use them.
- Avoid perfumes or scented lotions: These can sometimes irritate bees, so please skip them.
- Water bottles: Staying hydrated is important.
