Course Overview
Basic Life Support (BLS) is an important step in the survival of a person who suffers a cardiac arrest incident. The Canadian Red Cross BLS course is designed for in-facility and pre-hospital care providers, to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, rapid defibrillation, as well as oxygen therapy and airway management. Upon successful completion, students receive a Red Cross Basic Life Support Certificate, valid for one year (digital certificate is issued upon successful completion).
