Wilderness First Responder – Slipstream

Course Overview

Gain the confidence and tools necessary to make critical medical and evacuation decisions for wilderness trips where there may be complex, difficult evacuations and delays. In this 90-hour course wilderness first responder course, you will learn:

• How to assess and manage injuries caused by force as well as non-traumatic illnesses, common medical conditions, and small wounds.
• Current legal considerations for care and risk management procedures.
• To use field portable medical supplies and available resources to provide emergency care.
• Complex evacuation planning skills with special emphasis on long-term patient care.

Your Slipstream-issued Advanced Wilderness First Aid certificate will be valid for 3 years.
