Flourishing Futures celebrates the link between ‘open’ and ‘sustainable development’ as a practical strategy for connecting people, place, and planet. Tour interactive Spotlight Stations that shine a light on the creative and innovative ways Open Education and SDGs can be combined to benefit students, instructors, and communities. During the Lunch and Learn component, enjoy lunch while learning from innovators as they highlight a web of inspiring ideas, themes, and exemplars that arise when we blend open education, SDGs, and skill-building for a thriving, sustainable future.
Format
This event is a hybrid event being held at the College of the Rockies Cranbrook Campus (main lobby, Kootenay Centre Building) and online via asynchronous and synchronous components. The synchronous Lunch and Learn will be hosted via Teams. Those registering for online options will receive links for engagement.

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Spotlight Festival
Tour interactive Spotlight Stations that shine a light on the creative and innovative ways Open Education and SDGs can be combined to benefit students, instructors, and communities. Stations highlight the multitude of ways that the values and practices of open education go hand-in-hand with SDG themes such as quality education, reduced inequalities, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods.

- Online – receive a link to a self-directed digital tour of stations.
12:15 PM – 1:15 PM Lunch and Learn
Enjoy lunch while learning from innovators as they highlight a web of inspiring ideas, themes, and exemplars that arise when we blend open education, SDGs, and skill-building for a thriving, sustainable future.
