College of the Rockies Vice-President, Education and Applied Research Stan Chung is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Hepworth to the role of Dean, Health and Human Services.
Hepworth, a Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Nursing, has served as acting Dean for the past 16 months.
“In her role as acting Dean, Heather has led many critical projects including nursing accreditation, the northwestern Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing conference, and strategic plan development,” says Chung. “The hiring committee applauded Heather’s broad and deep experience working with our degree, diploma and certificate programs. We look forward to her continued contributions in the future.”
Prior to taking on the role of Dean, Heather worked as a nurse, a union vice-president, an instructor and department head.
“I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic management team at College of the Rockies. I look forward to contributing to the implementation of the new strategic plan and continuing to build relationships with community,” Hepworth says.
In her new role, Hepworth will oversee the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant, Dental Assistant, Kinesiology, and Child, Youth and Family Studies programs along with the East Kootenay Teacher Education degree offered in partnership with the University of Victoria.
