2021 campaign to focus on Health Education and Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Bursary

College of the Rockies will launch its third-annual Giving Tuesday campaign on November 30, 2021. Aimed at encouraging local businesses, organizations, and individuals to give back to the community they love, this year’s campaign will focus on the Dean’s Health Education Technology Fund and the Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Bursary.

“If the past twenty months have shown us anything, it is how vital our healthcare workers are to our community,” said Graham Knipfel, Director of Donor and Alumni Engagement. “Our Dean’s Health Education Technology Fund will help us to provide future healthcare heroes with new learning technology and equipment to further enhance the skill development for those aspiring to become health care assistants, dental assistants, practical nurses, and registered nurses.”

This year the College is also partnering with the Rotary Club of Cranbrook as they celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Cranbrook. The Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Bursary aims to help College of the Rockies students in need of financial support to achieve their educational goals.

“Our club is delighted to contribute to the Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Bursary at College of the Rockies,” said Leanne Jensen, President of the Rotary Club of Cranbrook. “I invite members of our community to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Cranbrook by making a gift to this permanent bursary, as it will support students in financial need for years to come. Recipients of this bursary will have good academic standing and will have demonstrated a commitment to this community through any number of means. As Rotarians, we are thrilled to take action to create lasting change and bring value to our community.”

As in past years, the College is welcoming donations to either the Dean’s Health Education Technology Fund or the Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Bursary – or to any number of other scholarships, bursaries or projects. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for charitable tax receipts and 100 per cent of proceeds will go toward the chosen fund, scholarship, or bursary. To further demonstrate their commitment, the College will be matching donations up to a total of $10,000 each for the Dean’s Fund and the Centennial Bursary.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement, occurring on the first Tuesday after Black Friday, intended to create an international day of charitable giving at the start of the holiday season.
