With employers reporting hiring 135 people because of the 2024 East Kootenay Career and Job Fair, those looking for a new career will not want to miss this year’s event on March 5, 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the College gymnasium.
“Each year we are inspired by this event as we watch meaningful connections take place, summer jobs found, and careers launched,” said Co-op and Employment Services Coordinator Jenn Smith, who is co-coordinating the event again this year. “I look forward to another successful Career and Job Fair.”
The 2025 Career and Job Fair welcomes Elk Valley Resources as Platinum Sponsor and will, once again, be supported by WorkBC and Kootenay Employment Services.
“EVR is proud to support this year’s East Kootenay Career and Job Fair which is a great opportunity for talented individuals to connect with local employers in mining and beyond, especially as we see continued demand for skilled workers in the region,” said Carley Hughes, Senior Lead, Recruitment, EVR.
The 2024 Career and Job Fair welcomed over 800 community members and students so attendees should come prepared with their resume and dressed appropriately to be competitive. There will be opportunities for summer employment, career jobs, and career exploration. The event is free for all attendees.
For those who prefer a quieter and sensory-friendly environment, the Career and Job Fair will again hold an inclusive hiring hour from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with limited traffic and noise, and more opportunities to have one-on-one conversations with vendors.
