Discipline: Upgrading for Academic and Career Entry (UACE)
I began working at College of the Rockies’ Invermere campus in 2008 as an administrative coordinator. A few years later, I had the opportunity to instruct a Continuing Education computer course and I fell in love with teaching.
In 2021, the Upgrading for Academic & Career Entry (UACE) program returned to the Invermere campus, and I jumped on the opportunity to be part of it. I currently work part-time in the program, teaching a variety of Math, English, and Computer courses. I sit on the College’s Sustainability Committee and have also taken part in ABE (Adult Basic Education) computer articulation.
In addition to my Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, I have earned a Provincial Instructor diploma from Vancouver Community College. I am passionate about math and computers and enjoy working with adult learners. I understand that all students have unique experiences in life and learning and I take pride in providing a supportive and flexible environment to help them achieve their goals. I strive to be a life-long learner and enjoy participating in professional development. When not learning or teaching, I love to be outdoors with my family and also enjoy biking, hiking, camping, reading, board games, and travelling.
