College of the Rockies has developed a unique trades training partnership with the Panafrican Group, which is one of the leading providers of heavy duty equipment and aftersales support in Africa. Using British Columbia’s approach to training heavy duty equipment technicians as a benchmark, the College supported the development of Panafrican’s in-house training program. This partnership features Panafrican training its employees and the College certifying that trainees’ knowledge and skills meet international standards. Panafrican benefits by being able to ensure that it can provide its clients with with world class maintenance and repair services. Meanwhile, its trainees receive skills to ensure employment in high-wage, in-demand jobs in Africa.
