Malik Dhami’s journey shows how a small start can lead to big opportunities.
Encouraged by an education advisor, Malik enrolled in the Criminal and Social Justice diploma program at the College. The small class sizes and individualized experience with instructors helped him build the academic skills and confidence needed for success.
After completing his diploma, Malik earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (with High distinction) before moving on to the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. While at UBC Law, he has already gained significant experience:
- Clinician with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program
- Research Assistant for the law school
- Assistant editor for the 2024 edition of Tort Law
- Summer Associate with a New York law firm (2025)
Expected to graduate in May 2026, Malik continues to set his sights high.
“College of the Rockies made my transition to post-secondary manageable,” he said. “The personalized feedback from instructors helped me build my academic skills and confidence. The education offered at the College is extremely valuable, especially considering the cost compared to other institutions. Attending the College can absolutely be part of anyone’s academic plan—even if they have lofty career goals. The College prepares students well for moving on to larger post-secondary institutions.”
