For Jessie Wang, working with children has always been a calling. “I like working with children and always want to support them,” she explained. That passion led her to College of the Rockies’ Education Assistant program, recommended by a friend and chosen for its length and depth of learning opportunities.

Throughout the program, Jessie thrived on the variety of content, discussion posts, and ongoing challenges. “I received tremendous support from the staff,” she recalls. “The program gave me great opportunities to learn and grow in my professional field.”

Today, Jessie works with School District 34 and the Archway Community Center, where she supports newcomers to Canada with English language learning. The role allows her to put into practice the skills and confidence gained during her studies.

Reflecting on the experience, she shares: “The challenges I faced through the program prepared me to work as an EA professionally and skillfully.”

Her advice to future students? “Compared to other programs, the College not only provides the knowledge to be a professional Education Assistant but also helps prepare you for future educational and life experiences.”
