Does not include Textbooks – If you register online you are responsible to contact the College to organize payment of the EMR textbooks.  Once you have paid for the textbooks, we will send the books to the closest campus of your residence.

Prerequisites: Candidates must be 19 years of age, hold a valid WorkSafeBC OFA Level 3 certificate or equivalent, preferably issued within the previous six months.

Course Overview

The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is for WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 3 attendants who wish to upgrade their skills to become an EMR attendant for the ambulance service and prepares the candidate for the provincial examination. This course meets the National Occupational Competency Profile(NOCP) guidelines as set out by the Paramedic Association of Canada. Note that most employers in the North are asking for minimum of EMR. Upon successful completion, students receive a College of the Rockies Emergency Medical Responder CE Certificate of Completion, valid for one year.
