Course Overview
This two-day course is designed to provide lifesaving first aid skills to workers in industry. Skills taught include the scope of a basic first aid attendant, as well as making medical referral decisions, assessing and treating major fractures, burns, chest pain, diabetes, stroke and anaphylaxis.
Successful completion requires 100% attendance, demonstrations of critical skills and a 70% pass mark on the written exam. Please note these courses are physically demanding and will require prolonged kneeling, working in stooped positions, and rolling patients. Each class participant is required to function as attendant, helper and patient. Depending on the level and length of the course, these physical demands can become rigorous. Participants will be required to demonstrate specific skills according to an accepted standard before certification is issued.

To renew an intermediate certificate, a candidate must meet the same training and examination requirements as for initial certificates through the completion of a full intermediate first aid course.
Course fee includes the book. Upon successful completion, students receive a WorkSafeBC OFA Intermediate certificate, valid for three years.
Note: Must bring photo ID. Please wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. Training is offered in English.
