Course Overview

This introductory course will introduce new committee members to the basic principles of workplace health and safety. Great for current OH&S committee members who desire refresher training. Develop scenarios with current OH&S issues faced at your workplace and become equipped with strategies to overcome these issues. Topics include health and safety legislation (provincial and federal), workplace parties’ rights and responsibilities, how legislation relates to your workplace, locate existing health and safety resources, identify workplace hazards directly related to the workplaces, strategies and controls to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards, develop plans to solve health and safety issues at you workplace. Audience: OH&S committee members, managers and worker representatives.
