Course Overview

An endorsement for WorkSafeBC recognized Basic and Intermediate first aid attendants. This course trains certified attendants to confidently transport an injured worker to a place of medical treatment. This endorsement is not valid unless a current WorkSafeBC OFA level basic, intermediate, or equivalent certificate is maintained.

Please note these courses are physically demanding and will require prolonged kneeling, working in stooped positions, and rolling patients. Each class participant is required to function as attendant, helper and patient. Depending on the level and length of the course, these physical demands can become rigorous. Participants will be required to demonstrate specific skills according to an accepted standard before certification is issued.

If you experience barriers related to a persistent, prolonged, permanent, or temporary disability that may impact your participation or learning in this course, please connect with Accessibility Services prior to the start of your course/program. Implementing accommodations is a collaborative process between students, Accessibility Services, and instructors to foster an inclusive learning environment.

To book an appointment with Accessibility Services for further information please contact Student Services:  250-489-8243

Out of province first aid attendants should be aware WorkSafeBC does recognize their training and certification. Due to OHSR 3.15 (c), the OOJ process must be completed. The OOJ process ensures the certificate holder receives the occupational health and safety information (regulatory requirements), and the differences in first aid protocols as the training would not include this information, and a new certificate is issued for use in B.C.

Note: Must bring Photo ID and a certificate that is recognized by WorkSafeBC or completed the OOJ
