Course Overview
Join our local Conservation Officer while she shows you how to identify wildlife in the winter through tracks. Included are large ungulates such as moose, elk, caribou and deer, predators such as wolf, coyote and cougar, as well as smaller furbearers such as marten, muskrat and raccoon. It can help the hunter to identify prime habitats and wildlife corridors or supply the outdoor recreationalist with valuable information while snowshoeing or hiking in the back country.
This one-day course will be in the class and in the field. Participants will require transportation to the site chosen for the field trip; carpooling would be appreciated.
Note: All weather gear, sturdy boots or hiking boots, snack and beverage suggested.
