This practicum course provides students with hands-on experience in applying the skills and knowledge gained throughout the Early Childhood Education Diploma program. Emphasis is placed on working with infants and toddlers in supportive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments. Students will integrate theory into practice by adapting and implementing activities for children from birth to age three while fostering strong, responsive relationships with children, families, and community partners.
ECED-229 - Infant and Toddler Practicum
Minimum Credits: 6
Length: 200 hours
Prerequisites: Minimum 65% in either English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, ENGL 090, or equivalent. Child, Youth and Family Studies Program: Early Childhood Education Specialty Certificate or a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college as well as successful completion of ECED 201, 213, and 218.
