Faculty Orientation to Dialogues with Indigenous Peoples Program

September 5 @ 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Dialogues with Indigenous Peoples is a community-based learning program that connects students, their learning, and Indigenous Peoples’ perspectives. Those who participate in Dialogues will be able to:

  • Positively engage with and reflect on Indigenous Peoples’ ways of knowing, being and doing.
  • Respectfully learn from Indigenous speakers – Elders, knowledge holders, and community members – from across Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis and beyond, as they share their knowledge with members of the College community.
  • Consider how their learning informs actions of reconciliation and decolonization in personally relevant ways, such as in professional practice.

The faculty orientation event (re)introduces the Dialogues program to instructors ahead of the Fall 2024 semester, introducing instructors to how they can engage the Dialogues in their courses.
